Located in sunny Happy Valley, State College, PA. Apple Hill Antiques has been a thriving anchor in the world of antique businesses for 15 years. The shop opened on May 4th, 1997 and was the brainstorm of four husband-wife couples who thought State College would benefit from a Group Antique Mall. The name Apple Hill was derived from it's site....a former apple orchard and cider press sitting atop a hill off East College Avenue.
An inviting dark green gallery interior is divided into booth areas with spaces for display cases. The main floor of the shop maintains its integrity of selling antiques with a rule.... all items must be before 1959 with the exception of Penn State University memorabilia. The back rooms and cases may have collectibles and furniture prior to 1989.
The building that houses the shop was a former roller skating rink and then a church before the mall antique shop.
The shop presently is managed by Roger and Jan Snyder. Roger is a Pennsylvania certified appraiser of antiques and popular lecturer and "road show" presenter.
The antique mall has 11.000 square feet and houses 50 dealers with various specialities
New dealers are always welcome to apply for space or a case.
